WA State Opportunity Scholarship ( WSOS) offers two scholarship programs for Washington State residents pursuing a credential towards a high-demand career in Washington state . The Baccalaureate Scholarship is for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM or health care field. The Career and Technical Scholarship (CTS) is for students pursuing a certificate, apprenticeship or associate degree in a high-demand trade, STEM or health care field such as welding, manufacturing or information technology. The scholarship funds are flexible and can be used to cover tuition, fees and other costs of attendance such as housing, transportation, food and more.
The Baccalaureate Scholarship application opens each year typically in January. The CTS application opens three times a year in April, September, and January.
The Baccalaureate application for 2025-26 will open January 10, 2025. The application deadline is February 28, 2025, and the application closes at 11:59pm.

The application will require approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Applicants may start the application, save progress and return to complete it later up until the application deadline. Applicants should know what college they expect to attend and what major they intend to complete before beginning their application.
